Shopping for the favorite pole or burlesque performer in your life can feel… a little weird. Let’s be honest—it’s not exactly fun to see your sister, cousin, or best friend half-naked on stage, and buying them gifts related to their “hobby” can get awkward fast. But don’t worry! There are plenty of ways to support your favorite poler without turning up at shows or awkwardly sharing their TikToks.
Here are some gifts that are practical, appreciated, and won’t make you squirm:
1. Their Favorite Grip
Pole dancers live and die by their grip. These grip aids make spins, climbs, and tricks stickier (in a good way). It’s a small gift that keeps us safe and performing at our best—plus, it’s totally non-creepy for you to give. Grip is something that is a never-ending expense for us, so trust me, your gift will certainly be appreciated!!
A few popular grips are:
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list so make sure to verify with someone close to your favorite poler!
2. Shein Giftcard
Yes, Shein has its problems, but it’s a lifeline for cheap, cute, and disposable pole outfits. A gift card lets us grab a new set for practice or performance without guilt—and you don’t have to see them actually wear it. Win-win.
3. Their Favorite Video Editing Software
Many dancers love making reels, tutorials, or performance videos. A subscription to CapCut, Adobe Premiere, LumaFusion, Filmora, or WeVideo helps us polish our clips and show off our moves without you ever having to sit through a live performance.
Please note that this is not a comprehensive list - there are so many video editors out there! Identiy whether your poler requires mobile or desktop editing access and go from there.
4. Workout & Exercise Equipment
Pole is hard work, and any dancer will appreciate fitness gear. Think resistance bands, yoga mats, kettlebells, or dumbbells. It’s practical, thoughtful, and keeps us strong enough to defy gravity on the regular—all without you ever having to grab the pole yourself.
5. Pleasers Giftcards
Heels are basically performance armor in burlesque and pole. A Pleasers gift card lets us pick out the perfect pair—no awkward shoe shopping with anyone required.
6. Tote or Gym Bags
Every poler needs a bag that can handle huge shoes, grip, clothes, props, hair brushes, and all the random gear that comes with this hobby. Bonus points if it’s stylish enough to double as a weekend bag.
7. Massage and Self-Care Gear
Pole dancers are basically walking bruise collections with excellent stage presence. A little self-care goes a long way. Massage guns, foam rollers, heating pads, ice packs, Epsom salts, and even those funky-looking cupping sets all make amazing gifts. Bonus points for finding your poler's regular masseuse and buying a giftcard! Your favorite dancer will absolutely use them—probably the same night they open them. Plus, nothing says “I support your passion without watching you booty-pop on stage” like helping them recover from the chaos their body endures.
8. Love Handle
If you’ve never heard of this magical little sticky grip handle that attaches to your phone, welcome to the poler accessory multiverse. The Love Handle makes filming pole runs so much easier because it gives dancers a more secure grip on their phone while recording - it literally sticks to the pole using a system of magnets!! So if there is a free pole, it can be attached so that your poler can video themselves hands-free. It also sticks to any metal object!! So no free pole? no problem! Grab a chair, attach it, and get to recording. No more accidental drops mid-trick or sketchy balancing acts involving water bottles and chalk bags as improvised tripods. It’s practical, affordable, and you can gift it without having to acknowledge the sultry content it’ll help them capture. Just make sure they don't have a pop-it or something similar on the back of their phone already.
The key? Gifts that help them shine without you turning into their front-row audience. This holiday season, give your favorite dancer something they’ll actually use—and maybe even secretly thank you for, without making family gatherings weird.
